The 2021 Reining Australia $50,000 Gold Buckle Futurity stared a stella line-up for Australia’s best five year old horses finally getting a chance to compete.
With a guaranteed $25,000 to the Thomas Arena Products and Reining Trainers Australia Open L4 Futurity Winner the quality of Reining was outstanding, only half a point separated the top four riders when the dust had settled.
In the end it was Graham Cooper riding the sensational imported mare The Voodoo That U Do who delivered the top score of 220 to win all three levels of the 2021 Open Futurity including the Ariat Australia Open L3 and the QP Dunit Like a Rockstar Open L2.
As well as adding to his 2022 Australian National Reining Championships buckle collection, sponsored by Thomas Arena Products, Southern Queensland Reining Horse Association, This Cowgirl’s Lifestyle and Tan-A-Lou Performance Horses, Graham was also the proud recipient of the coveted 2021 L4 Open Futurity Trophy Saddle.
