2018 - Crushed Ice

Once again the reining community has come together to celebrate a horses achievement to the reining industry in Australia. This horse is Crushed Ice. Crushed Ice was born in 1996 bred by Ian Francis, a Chestnut gelding by Just Plain Frosty out of Docs Meter maid.

​

Crushed Ice first futurity win was in 1999 at the Queensland State show shown and owned by John Wicks. Crushed Ice partnered with John Wicks to show at the 2000 Sydney Olympics for a Reining demonstration.  Soon after he was sold to George & Leanne Baker.

​

Crushed Ice’s show career spanned from 1999 until 2016 . Under numerous riders Leanne Baker, George Baker, Jack Baker, Grahame Cooper, Shane Watts, Leone Browne, Hayley Backhouse and up until last year was shown successfully by the Wyse family. All riders winning major events throughout his career with this forgiving nature, short & solid build, and great mind from Youth to Open & Aged events.

 

 

Crushed Ice passed away last year leaving a lasting memory in the lives of many who owned, and rode him along with anyone who was involved in his show career.
