Congratulations to our 2009 Opal Park Futurity Winner Warren Backhouse and Shiney & Nu

Owner Deborah Segeren was thrilled with the win and watched nervously as Warren drawn early, held onto to win with a score of 147 from the two judges. Deborah took home the $15000 Cheque, Rick Meredith Saddle and the Gold Buckle with numerous other trophies and prizes.

PAYMENTS

  • a yearling paid before the 31st of December will be a once only payment of $200
  • a 2 year old paid before the 31st of December will be a once only payment of $400
  • a 3 yrear old paid before the 31st of December will be a once only payment of $800
  • a 3 year old who pays between the 1st of January up to the Futurity will then pay $1500.

The idea is the younger the horse entered the cheaper it is to enter into the Futurity. 

Anyone wishing to nominate a horse in both the Non Pro and the Open Futuriey, if the horse had been entered for $200 as a yearling then at 2 years old, you would like it to be in both, just pay $400 to secure both categories.

 

BENEFITS

Owners - 75% discount on entry if paid as a yearling.

Owners - 75% discount on entry if paid as a yearling before the 31st of December.

Breeders - Progeny will have increased value at sale time as they are already entered in the futurity.

Stallion owners - by adding the futurity into the the stallions service fee, mare owners will be encouraged to
breed to sallions with this incentive. 

 Stallions who include this incentive in their service fee will be advertised on the Reining Australia website. 

 

2008 Reining Australia Futurity has been won by Jake Symonds of Victoria riding Dr House, owned by Jake Symonds and Kim LePlastrier. Dr House is a Chestnut Stallion by Ashmay Hank Man by Hank Man Leo out of a Rare Chex mare, and the Dam is Lake Tyrell Lady Lita by a King Fritz Sire. Jake posted a huge score of 148 from the two judges and imressed the crowd with big sliding stops and a faultless performance.

Runner Up was Warren Backhouse of Qld riding LilMissNoitall owned by Dennis Neylon by renowned reining sire Freckles Gay Doc. Warren posted a 147 in a hotly contested Futurity Field.
